Josephine Otchere-Darko
District Programme Head - Gophelega Ekurhuleni
Dr Josephine Otchere-Darko is the Programme Head at Wits RHI, Ekurhuleni, with over 14 years of impactful contributions to the public health sector. She holds a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Wits University, a Bachelor of Medicine (MBCHB), and a Diploma in HIV/TB Management. Dr Otchere-Darko’s passion for excellence and leadership has garnered her numerous accolades, including membership on the Ekurhuleni Research Committee, the Wits RHI Director’s Leadership Excellence Award, and recognition as a media representative. She is also a peer reviewer and co-author of several articles, all while maintaining her clinical expertise as a medical doctor.
Beyond her clinical and administrative roles, Dr Otchere-Darko is dedicated to community service. She provides free medical male circumcision to young boys as part of her commitment to an HIV/TB-free generation. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, jogging, and networking to further expand her expertise. Dr Otchere-Darko continues to focus on providing strategic and technical guidance in the HIV/TB/Research field, striving towards achieving the UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals.
