Krishnaveni (Surina) Reddy is a Technical Head at Wits RHI’s Research Centre Clinical Research Site in Johannesburg, South Africa. She holds a Master’s degree in Medical Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Krishnaveni has extensive experience in reproductive health research, working with adult women, adolescent girls, and adult men. She has served as principal investigator, co-principal investigator, and sub-investigator on numerous qualitative studies, observational studies, and clinical trials. Her research focuses on evaluating promising novel biomedical agents for HIV prevention, contraception, novel point-of-care diagnostic STI tests, and PrEP restart.

With over 50 peer-reviewed publications to her credit, Krishnaveni was recently nominated as protocol co-chair for the MATRIX-003 trial, which assesses the acceptability and safety of two placebo intravaginal ring designs.
