Zororo Mavindidze is the Technical Head – Compliance, Reporting, Operations and Procurement at Wits RHI. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of the Western Cape and certifications in Risk, Compliance, and Governance from the University of the Witwatersrand, along with specialised training in Project and Operations Management from the University of Cape Town.
In his role, Zororo ensures legal, financial, and regulatory compliance across various grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, and sub-awards within Wits RHI Health Programmes Directorate. He supports the Health Programmes directorate, management, and staff in adhering to regulations, policies, and compliance standards throughout the project life cycle. This includes developing funding applications, budgeting, work planning, program implementation, expenditure monitoring, and reporting. Additionally, Zororo provides operational oversight to Health Programmes projects, ensuring effective material resource allocation and efficient utilization across all implementation sites.
Zororo has been instrumental in establishing the Climate and Health Directorate within Wits RHI and was appointed as Deputy Hub Administrator for a 5-year National Institutes for Health flagship project. Over the past five years, he has supported successful grant funding applications worth over USD 250 million from prominent funders in the fields of HIV/TB and Climate Change, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USAID, Wellcome Trust, and the European Union.
