Wits RHI is proud to be represented by Celeste Madondo, Senior Programme Manager for Climate and Health in the Implementation Science Directorate, at the 15th Global Health Supply Chain Summit (GHSCS) in Lagos, Nigeria. As part of the summit’s focus on climate and health, Celeste will present on 14th November on the impacts of climate change on public health and health systems. Her session will address the critical intersection of climate change and healthcare, highlighting how changing weather patterns and environmental shifts are affecting public health outcomes and health infrastructure, particularly across Africa.
Celeste will be joined by distinguished panelists from UNICEF, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, and Kenya’s Ministry of Health in a Climate Change and Health Panel, where they will explore the urgent need for climate-resilient healthcare systems. The panel discussion will emphasize the role of robust healthcare supply chains in mitigating the health risks associated with climate change and ensuring the sustainability of health systems in the face of environmental challenges.
The Global Health Supply Chain Summit serves as an important platform for experts to exchange knowledge and best practices, reinforcing Wits RHI’s commitment to addressing the intersection of climate and health through research, advocacy, and policy. We are excited for Celeste’s contribution to this pivotal conversation, reinforcing Wits RHI’s role in driving global health solutions.
