World AIDS Day 2024: Taking the Rights Path

On 1 December 2024, the world unites to observe World AIDS Day under the theme, “Take the Rights Path.” This theme underscores the vital role of safeguarding human rights in achieving the global goal of ending AIDS by 2030

The latest UNAIDS report highlights that protecting human rights directly enhances health outcomes, emphasizing that a rights-based approach is fundamental in tackling the HIV epidemic. By prioritizing the dignity and rights of all individuals, we can ensure more effective HIV prevention, treatment, and care strategies.

In alignment with this year’s theme, Wits RHI will collaborate with the Department of Health to host a series of awareness campaigns, health screenings, and community activities. These initiatives are part of the global effort to create an AIDS-free future
