Initiate and complete relevant and responsive, quality research and innovation led by wits RHI researchers and strategic partnerships.

  1. Increase the number of research outputs and innovations
  2. Increase the number of first author publications within the institute.
  3. Find internal and external strategic partners to collaborate with in research and innovations.

Strengthen systems that impact on health outcomes of individuals and populations.

  1. Support the implementation of evidence based policies and guidelines
  2. Promote equitable access to systems to increase population coverage and improve health outcomes.
  3. Undertake ongoing quality improvement activities and impact evaluation of systems in collaboration and key stakeholders so that they remain efficient, effective and responsive to dynamic community needs.

Strategic Objectives

Establish a pipeline of new researchers and innovators through academic support, on the job training and mentoring.

  1. Increase the number of PhD and Masters students enrolled within the Institute.
  2. Increase the number of students completing and graduating with relevant qualifications.
  3. Support the academic development of existing staff as part of career development within the organisation.

  1. Increase the number of females and previously disadvantaged individuals in senior management position.

  3. Create a safe and mutually respectful work environment for all our staff
